![]() This will give you an advantage with Akihiko, who is a little more difficult to pursue than Shinjiro.Ģ. There's no wrong answers here so fire away to your heart's content.ġ.Maximize your charm, courage and academic scores to max out your social link score. This is really just for fun but after you've maxed out this social link you can engage in extra scene if you try to spend time with him again back at the dorm. To unlock this rank, talk to Officer Kurosowa at the Police Station for the pocketwatch and then give it to Shinjiro back at the dorm. Just talk to him to begin this social link. You'll find Shinjiro hanging out at the lobby of the dorm during the evening. Also, in case you haven't finished the game yet so I won't give anything away, you should really give Shinjiro his missing pocket watch before the full moon in October, which can be done through Level 9 of his social link You'll need to max out his social link before the 4th of October where an extra scene may be initiated and give you the opportunity to confess your love to him. Eventually, he will confess that he loves your character as well. ![]() Dissuade him from putting himself down and continue to choose dialog options that show him you care about him. After October 4th, in-game time, you can begin dating him if you have spoken with him every time you could.ģ.Continue to speak with him when he's confined to a hospital bed and confess that you love him when given the opportunity. The more you speak with him, the more you will raise your connection level with him. The higher your social link score, the better chance you have of wooing any of the potential boyfriends.Ģ.Speak with Shinjiro at every opportunity. These three ratings will raise your social link score. It does less for Ken's arc, but doesn't cheapen Ken's story, IMO, as much as it improves Akihiko's so I'm okay with that.1.Increase your academic, charm and courage ratings. Akihiko still has to face the fact that he was powerless in a meaningful way, but he also had better damn well have a good excuse if Shinji wakes up and he isn't taking things seriously this time.īasically, to me, it adds an extra dimension to Akihiko's arc that felt a little too "easy" in the original, considering Aki's past. If Shinji survives, though, it adds an extra element onto things. He's still not accountable to anyone but his own oath, and while we don't see him screw it up, there's nothing really stopping him from eventually turning things the same way he did before. However, the problem is that he mostly just reacts by saying "okay, yeah, I went about it the wrong way last time, so I'mma do it again, but this time, I mean it, I swear". It's a pretty nasty fate for Akihiko, all around, and admittedly, Shinjiro surviving gives him a little bit of a reprieve. The thing with Akihiko is he already has a dead sibling, and he already pulled a "I have to be a stronger person so I don't let down the memory of my dead sibling", and then, of course, he more or less goes and does just that because he confuses the means and the ends, and just uses it as an excuse for escapism, which takes the most terrible possible turn, and means that he loses another sibling. That said, here's my really hot take, probably: I actually like what Shinjiro not dying does for Akihiko. Would've been neat if he, at least, revived on 1/30, or something and could be back in the party for the final boss day, or something. It doesn't really mean anything for his character, nor for the story going forward. They don't really do anything with it storywise, and as noted, the fact that he was looking at a shorter life anyway mean it just feels like a waste from that perspective. So from the perspective of someone who really doesn't like playing P3 except via the FeMC route, who always does Shinji's Social Link, and thus, always saves him, to me.saving him does feel kinda "lazy". ![]() My headcanon: Kotone (FEMC) romanced him, Shinjiro survived October 4th, but stayed in coma until March 5th, he arrives at the school's rooftop to meet Kotone and Aigis, and then, both died embracing each other. And unlike Chidori, there're no magic flowers saving his butt. ![]() And a coma can last for months, even years, so it's not so different from being dead.Įven if Takaya's shot didn't kill him, the pills' side effects were going to do the job regardless. Just like with Chidori in FES/Portable, it's something completely optional that's only up to the player to trigger it.Īlthough he didn't die, he was put into a coma. There are some factors that make me think that people exaggerate a lot about this: One of the biggest complaints I've seen about FEMC's route in P3P is the fact that you can save Shinjiro from dying at October 4th.Īnd although I do find kind of cheap and cliché the way he's "saved" from Takaya's shot (his pocket watch stops the bullet, seriously?).
